A 32-year-old man from Kericho County, Peter Kiplangat Kigen, was mistakenly declared dead but miraculously woke up while in the mortuary.

This unusual incident has left his family and the community in disbelief. Kigen collapsed at his home and was quickly taken to the hospital.

Unfortunately, medical staff believed he had died and pronounced him dead. His body was then sent to the mortuary, where preparations were being made for his burial.

During the embalming process, a mortuary attendant made an incision in Kigen’s right leg to inject formalin, a chemical used to preserve bodies.

To everyone’s astonishment, Kigen suddenly regained consciousness and let out a loud scream of pain.

The mortuary staff were shocked and quickly rushed him back to the hospital.

Initially, it seemed like Kigen was recovering well after being returned to the hospital. However, the situation took a tragic turn.

While being transported to Kericho County Referral Hospital for more treatment, Kigen sadly passed away in the ambulance.

This incident has raised serious concerns about how medical professionals determine death.

Many people are questioning how such a mistake could happen, and there are calls for better protocols and training for medical staff to prevent similar situations in the future.

Kigen’s family is heartbroken and struggling to cope with the loss.

They were already making funeral arrangements when they received the shocking news that he had woken up.

“It’s hard to believe what happened. We thought we lost him, and then to hear he was alive, only to lose him again, is devastating,” a family member expressed.

The local community is also deeply affected by this incident.

Many have extended their condolences to Kigen’s family and are calling for thorough investigations.
